Shipload Cottage is our largest cottage with a double bedroom, bathroom and a twin bedroom equipped with its own shower en-suite. The cottage has a split level living area, with the fully equipped kitchen and dining area on one level and living room on another. Wi-Fi is available, and there is also a private patio accessible from the kitchen for summer dining!
Shipload Cottage is a detatched stone barn conversion on split levels. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom and an en-suite, and seperate living and kitchen/dining areas, as well as it's own patio.
Two leather armchairs, leather sofa, Freeview 40" flat screen television, DVD player, and radio / CD player with bluetooth facility. It features exposed beams and a period stable door.
The kitchen is well equipped with a double oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. All cutlery, utensils and plates are provided. The Dining Area opens out to the patio for summer dining!
Shipload Cottage benefits from the use of a private patio area which has a table, chairs, and parasol. Below the patio is the cottage's garden.
The bedroom is equipped with a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, mirror and two bedside cabinets with lights.
The bathroom is clean and modern and is equipped with a bath with shower attachment, toilet, wash basin with shaver point and a heated towel rail.
The second bedroom is equipped with two single beds, a wardrobe, mirror, bedside cabinet and bedside lights.
The En-Suite to the second bedroom is equipped with a shower, washbasin and a toilet.
Guests have the use of a free to use shared washing machine and tumble dryer. This facility is available "Upon Request". There is a cycle rack in the entrance to the Nissan Hut where guests may store bicycles.
Our cottages come with a selection of maps, leaflets and information guides in an online resource folder. We can also provide essential toiletries, travel hairdryer, and an emergency sewing kit if required. A first aid kit is provided in the bathroom.
We manage the site to encourage wildlife and a wide variety of birds visit our well supplied feeders around the cottages. We keep a bird feeder stocked up outside each cottage, so you can enjoy watching our feathered friends come and go.
We thoroughly clean each cottage between guests departures and arrivals to Covid-19 Secure standards. The beds are made and bath and hand towels are provided for each guest. A tea towel is provided in the kitchen.
You will find that we provide a yummy Devon Cream tea with scones, jam and clotted cream during your stay. Will you have yours with the Devon way of cream first, or the Cornish way of jam first?
The new owner would like to thank Martin Rayner for the relationships he built with the existing customers and for his professional handover of the business. Onsite support is still provided as is the ability to provide advice about making the most of your stay and solve any problems in a timely manner.
Our family holidayed at Shipload Cottage for the second time last week (July/August) and we all (4 adults, a 6 year old and a small baby) had a fabulous time. The cottage is in a lovely location and is spotlessly clean as well as containing anything you could possibly need. We were welcomed by Martin who was extremely helpful and for whom nothing was too much trouble. A perfect week and we would definitely recommend a visit.
The cottage certainly lived up to expectations and more. It had all we needed to enjoy a great week's holiday. The welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated. The location is great and we did not have to travel far in what was a heatwave to enjoy beaches, woods and other interesting places.
